The Research Intelligence & Capacity (RIC) team within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research & Scholarship (OVPRS) empowers the University of Miami’s research community by delivering data-driven insights, operational support, and strategic systems management.

RIC offers a wide range of services, including, but not limited to:

• Configuring research application infrastructure to support administrative operations
• Developing training materials and end-user training on deployed functionality
• Research and clinical informatics and dashboard development
• Research system-to-system interfacing, integration, workflows and end-user support

The Office of Institutional Research and Strategic Analytics (IRSA) serves as the clearinghouse of student data, official University statistics, and strategic analytics for institutional decision-making and official external reporting.

The Office of the Vice Provost for Research & Scholarship (OVPRS) Data Broker Services provides a centralized, standardized review of all requests for clinical data at the University and its health system.

Services include:

The UHealth IT Department of Data Science and Research Informatics supports the research data needs for University of Miami clinical investigators. Transfer data to or receive data from non-UM collaborators in a safe and secure manner using approved mechanisms. Appropriate sharing contracts must be executed, and each UM clinical dataset must be certified prior to sharing.
